What is Fermented Wheat Germ Extract?
Traditional Fermented Wheat Germ Extract (FWGE), is a standardized and concentrated extract of wheat germ obtained from fermenting the germ (endosperm or seed) of a wheat plant. It is different from the ordinary wheat germ in that its fermentation is done with baker's yeast, then cold water extracted, to achieve the concentration of the biologically-active benzoquinones.
It was discovered by a Hungarian Biochemist, and Nobel Laureate, Dr. Albert Szent-Gyorgyi. Many have since claimed to have discovered FWGE, but Szent-Gyorgyi worked closely with Chemist Jane McLaughlin when discovering the potential benefits of Fermenting Wheat Germ. Jane McLaughlin would go on to work with Hungarian Biochemist Máté Hidvégi; who patented “Avémar” and several ways it can be made.
Since FWGE’s discovery, much research, tests and trials in animals, proved FWGE’s effectiveness in fighting cancer and minimizing the side effects of chemotherapy; the current mainstream treatment for cancer.
FWGE is administered through the mouth to people who are suffering arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, common chemotherapy side effects, colon, sunburn and rectal cancers. It is classified as a dietary supplement and was first sold under brand Avemar which is still manufactured by Biropharma Ltd in Hungary. The product has been medically approved as a dietary food to help cancer patients with their chemotherapy results.
What Medical Conditions Does Fermented Wheat Germ Extract Help With?
